I was born and raised in a Mac family. From Apple 2s to Macintosh Classics to LC2s, we had them all.

And my parents went through each generation one after the other without so much as a glance towards the dark side, a.k.a. Windows.

For me though, the dark side held an undeniable attraction: games. Time and again, I’d watch awesome games come out Windows, and then I’d have to wait years to be able to play them on Mac OS (if they even got ported at all).

The era when computer had CD drives, floppy disk readers, and infrared ports.

So if you had told 15-year-old me that one day software would come out on Mac OS first, and only years later get Windows support, I don’t think I would’ve believed you.

Meteor For Windows

I bet you can see where I’m going with this: three years after its first beta version, Meteor is finally getting official Windows support.

This means if you’re running Windows, you’ll now be able to install Meteor via a simple .exe executable, and your platform is now a first-class citizen just like Mac OS and Linux.

Discover Meteor Updated

And of course, with a new version of Meteor comes a new version of Discover Meteor.

Thanks to the help of a few brave testers, we were able to make sure the book worked just as well for Windows. But if you encounter any issues, let us know and we’ll do our best to put out another update quickly.

We also fixed a few minor syntax issues and typos. As usual, you’ll find the full list of changes in the changelog.
